Contribute to our Research Efforts

Dear Colleagues:

We are working on several projects that would benefit from your experiences and knowledge of peace education development and literature. We seek to develop a comprehensive on-going, multi-lingual peace education bibliography and also to update the historical background on the field that was published some years ago as "A Review and Projection of Peace Education."

To begin with we would ask that you send what you would identify as the most significant peace education publications in the last five to ten years. In particular, we are looking for publications that might fit into the following categories:

  • Rationales and Arguments for Peace Eucation
  • Theories about the Politics and Pedagaogies of Peace Education
  • Applied Theory Materials, Curricula and Currriculum Planning, Methods Training Materials

We are sorry that the first stage of this list can only be published in English, but want to know of important work in all languages, hoping that peace educators who know several languages can broaden the base of their knowledge. We believe it is important to move beyond the dominance of English langauge material in the field, and regret that until we get some more help our first stages will be only in English. But at least we can document that there is a global field producing theories and experiences we all should know about in all the countries and cultures where peace education is practiced.

Your list can be short. Indeed we want to know for this round what is the most useful in terms of the development and dissemination of peace education. Please provide language designation, title, author(s) publisher, date of publication, length, category (see above) to which the publication ascribes, a brief note on content and a line or two about why you believe the publication to be important.

Please send your inputs to: research@i-i-p-e.org

Your contributions to this project will be invaluable. We need them as soon as possible. We will acknowledge your contributions to the list and in its publication.
