Sandra Milena Alvarez Ramirez

Sociologist and master in gender studies. One of my concerns has stemmed from my personal experience as a young woman and survivor of the 23 military operations that took place in the city of Medellín, commune 13, in 2002. Since these events took place, I have participated in various actions in the territory denouncing the violations of Human Rights performed by the Public Force.

I am currently part of the 'bordanzas por las memorias' collective, driven by the reflections made in my research work “Autoethnography and ethnography of activist women in Colombia. The experience of Agroarte and Cuerpos Gramaticales”. My interests are focused on art, narratives and actions in the territory with the communities that support the methodological aspects of my investigative and social activities, highlighting the importance of the discourse, its re-creation and its re-conquest in the field of the symbolic, physical and political dimensions.

Socióloga y magister en estudios de género. Una de mis preocupaciones, ha partido desde mi experiencia personal como mujer joven y sobreviviente de las 23 operaciones militares, ocurridas en la ciudad de Medellín, comuna 13 en 2002. A partir de estos acontecimientos, participé de varias acciones en el territorio denunciando las violaciones a los Derechos Humanos por parte de la Fuerza pública.

Actualmente hago parte del colectivo Bordanzas por las Memorias, impulsada por las reflexiones realizadas en mi trabajo investigativo “Autoetnografía y etnografía de mujeres activistas en Colombia. La experiencia de Agroarte y Cuerpos Gramaticales”. Mis intereses están enfocados en el arte, las narraciones y las acciones en territorio con las comunidades fundamentan los aspectos metodológicos de mi qué hacer investigativo y social, poniendo de relieve la importancia de la palabra su re-creación y su re-conquista en el campo de lo simbólico, lo físico y lo político.
