Dreaming the Future / Soñando el Futuro

Dreaming of the future is a workshop proposal to develop historical awareness in childhood, for which a reflective process will be followed based on the questions: What was your community like in the past? How is it in the present? And how would you like it to be in the future? Through participatory methodologies, playful techniques and artistic languages, the participants will develop narratives to integrate their perception of their community and establish categories of analysis for their study, which can later become tools to apply with children's groups.

Soñando el futuro es una propuesta de taller para desarrollar la conciencia histórica en la infancia, para ello se seguirá un proceso reflexivo a partir de las preguntas: ¿Cómo era tu comunidad en el pasado? ¿Cómo es en el presente? y ¿Cómo te gustaría que fuera en el futuro? Por medio de metodologías participativas, técnicas lúdicas y lenguajes artísticos, las personas participantes desarrollarán narrativas para integrar la percepción que tienen de su comunidad y establecer categorías de análisis para sus estudio, que posteriormente se podrán convertir en herramientas para aplicar con grupos infantiles.

Carolina Pacheco-Espinosa is a faithful believer in fairies, witches and magic. Hummingbird, deer and wolf are her totem animals, pozole is her favorite dish and sleeping is her most notable talent. Originally from Mexico, she was born in the center of the country, in the semi-desert area, in lands where the sun, cactus and biznagas allow us to patiently observe the changes of the weather. Along the way, she has found knowledge between art, education and children's cultural promotion, to create proposals that contribute to social transformation. Her tools are dance and her interdisciplinary dialogue with literature and the visual arts. She currently develops her own projects and collaborates in initiatives on children's rights, culture of peace and prevention of gender violence.

Carolina Pacheco Espinosa es una fiel creyente de las hadas, las brujas y la magia. El colibrí, el venado y el lobo son sus animales tótem, el pozole su platillo favorito y dormir es su talento más notable. Originaria de México, nació en el centro del país, en la zona del semidesierto, en tierras donde el sol, los cactus y las biznagas permiten observar con paciencia los cambios del tiempo. En su camino ha encontrado saberes entre el arte, la educación y la promoción cultural infantil, para crear propuestas que contribuyan a la transformación social. Sus herramientas son la danza y su diálogo interdisciplinario con la literatura y las artes visuales. Actualmente desarrolla sus propios proyectos y colabora en iniciativas sobre derechos de las niñas y niños, cultura de paz y prevención de la violencia de género.
