Narratives for the defense of human rights / Narrativas para la defensa de los derechos humanos

The defense of human rights is a constant and essential task to address the problems that afflict us as a species. In a globalized, interconnected and information-filled world, it is important to build narratives that defend human rights in the face of groups and individuals who use their resources to disqualify and question their importance, sophisticating their discourses, establishing false dilemmas and disqualifying through prejudice, stereotypes and hate speech.

This is not a simple task, but it is imperative to address it or else the struggles won by human rights during the last century and the 21st century will be further threatened by power groups and individuals who, using their resources, continue to violate and generate fear. Human rights emerge here as a source not only of hope but of concrete and possible changes.

La defensa de los derechos humanos es una tarea constante y primordial para abordar las problemáticas que nos aquejan como especie. En un mundo globalizado, interconectado y lleno de información, es importante construir narrativas que defienda los derechos humanos ante grupos y personas que utilizan sus recursos para descalificar y poner en duda su importancia, sofisticando sus discursos, estableciendo falsos dilemas y descalificando a través de prejuicios, estereotipos y discursos de odio.

Lo anterior no es una tarea sencilla, pero es imperativo abordarla o de lo contrario las luchas ganadas por los derechos humanos durante el siglo pasado y el siglo XXI, se verán más amenazadas por grupos de poder y personas que usando sus recursos, siguen violentando y generando miedo. Los derechos humanos surgen aquí como una fuente no sólo de esperanza sino de cambios concretos y posibles.
