This symposium will be a launch of Betty Reardon’s new books, “Betty A. Reardon: A Pioneer in Education for Peace and Human Rights” and “Betty A. Reardon: Key Texts in Gender and Peace.” These books, edited by Dr. Dale Snauwaert, are volumes 26 & 27 in Hans Gunter Brauch’s Springer Publishers Series Pioneers in Science and Practice (PSP).
Representing six decades of Reardon’s work, the discussion of these two volumes will provide a base for exploring the links between Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security to the possibilities for the abolition of nuclear weapons. The program will also include Janet Gerson, Education Director of the International Institute on Peace Education.
Event sponsored by: United Methodist Women, with co-sponsors: Global Campaign for Peace Education, Global Network of Women Peacebuilders, International Institute on Peace Education, International Peace Bureau, the Peace Education Initiative at The University of Toledo.
